image Forwarding Agents Letters. 1737 (25 May) entire letter from Manzanillas, Mexico to Middleburg, Holland, probably carried privately throughout as there are no postal rate markings and showing, on reverse, "Jamaica 25 June 1737 Forwarded by your Honble Servant Benj. Bravo"; the contents include "I decided to remain here for 2-3 months and then to depart for Portobello as we have heard that the town of Panama has been totally burnt". A very fine and exceptionally early Jamaica forwarding agents letter offered with transcript of contents. Photo

Davidson and Graham, London", rated "3/8" and showing, on reverse, fine "jamaica/7 mar" J5 variety datestamp without year date, one of few examples recorded, alongside arrival datestamp (28.4), and 1802 (27 May) entire letter from Falmouth to New York "pr integrity, Capt. Crow" and then forwarded by Thomas Buchanan to Madeira, no rate markings and probably carried by favour of ships captain. An unusual pair
