1853 Couriers Soft Yellowish Paper Early Impressions 1d pale blue SG 1 horizontal strip of 3 from the top of the sheetlet, margins good to huge with complete outer framelines except at the base of the first unit, neat First Allocation BN '11' cancels of Avoca, Cat £4500++. A rare & highly desirable multiple.
1853 Couriers Plate I First State Brilliant Colours 4d bright red-orange SG 5, good even margins, faint stain at U/L, light BN cancel, Cat £1000. RPSofL Certificate (1998) does not mention the discolouration.
1858 'TASMANIA' 1/- deep vermilion SG 41 horizontal pair, margins close to good except where just shaved at the base of the right-hand unit, small fault at top between the units & minor hinge-thinning, large-part o.g., Cat £1800+.
1863-71 Experimental Separations Perf 12 by Walch & Sons under Contract to the Post Office 1d carmine with Error of Watermark '2' SG 70a, bars cancel of Hobart, Cat £2750. An underrated rarity. Ex Collins, Julian Beresfard, 'Isleham', David Cohen and Joseph Hackmey. Clear RPSofV Certificate (1998) and RPSofL Certificate (2008) that states "perfs at top improved". [Gary Diffen had only two pen-cancelled stamps. About 30 examples are recorded, most with manuscript fiscal cancellations and/or faked cancellations. Only four stamps have been authenticated as genuine postally used examples]
1870 Sidefaces 2d imperforate plate proof block of 4 in deep green on gummed Crown/CC paper from the U/L corner of the sheet with Current Number '42' at U/R, hinge remainders in the upper margin only, the stamps are unmounted.

POSTAL FISCALS: 1863 St George & the Dragon 3d imperf plate proof vertical pair in black on thin wove unwatermarked paper, characteristically close margins with fragments of the adjoining unit at upper-right. Rare: other similar proofs seen have been on Wmk 'TAS'-between-Bars paper.
