ENVELOPES: 1898 Scenic Issue complete set of views with 2d Sideface x6 or 2½d Tablet x6, superb unused. An immaculate set! [Some of Waterlow's best work. Between 306 & 312 of each view were issued. POSTAL CARDS: 1880 'WALCH'S/TASMANIAN POST CARD' private formular issue on white/off-white stock unused x4 (one miscut & one with handwritten advice "...issued in October 1880...to promote the introduction of the postal card system in Tasmania..." & signed "James A Walch": illustrated in G&S at page 9) and used in 1881 with BN '91' & part-'TORQUAY' cds (the addressee's name erased), and on buff stock unused x4 & late commercial usage in 1892 to NSW with BN '63' & 'NEW NORFOLK' cds; also STO 1d carmine + ½d orange on white & on buff all unused, generally very fine. A scarce group.
