1840 Entire letter sent from Sydney, dated 'Nov.r 3. 1840', to London, bearing GB One Penny black from Plate V DI and with enormous margins all round showing portions of five adjoining stamps, tied by Maltese Cross in black and "Bishopgate ..." handstamp, and on the reverse with '12 April 1841' receiving datestamp in red. A RARE PENNY BLACK ENTIRE ORIGINATING IN AUSTRALIA, with interesting contents regarding the sale of land around Wellington, New Zealand.
