1842 & 1847 Leake entires to Tasmania, the first "per Emma" with an unusually fine & virtually complete b/s of the huge GPO d/s of 17DE17/1843 & Tasmanian rounded-boxed 'SHIPLETTER/9JA9/1843' b/s, the other of 5.8.1847 with postmaster's manuscript "PO/Mt Gambier" at U/L, GPO transit cds of AU+28/1847 & Launceston arrival b/s of 17SP17/1847. [Carriage of the later item would have been a month shorter if sent first to Portland]

1855 envelope to Kent "Per Norman" with London Printing 2d rose-carmine SG 2 strip of 3 (margins close to large - except at left where a little cut-into - & a fragment of the adjoining unit at left) tied by circle-in-bars cancels of the GPO, light but obvious 'PAID/MY12/1855/=ADELAIDE SA=' cds in red, London transit cds of 1OC1/1855 in red on the face & very fine 'ROCHESTER' arrival b/s of the same day, minor blemishes. A very attractive First Issue cover.
1859 large-part entire to Scotland with Adelaide Printing 6d slate-blue SG 10 (margins just shaved - at right - to huge with fragments of adjoining units below & at left, affected by a very light ironed-out filing fold) tied by superb dumb small circle-in-bars cancel, 'PAID/JA14/1859/=ADELAIDE-S.A.=' cds in blue & very fine 'P M/ EDINBURGH/AP1/59' arrival b/s. A very scarce franking. Ex Michael Blake. [The letter headed "Govt Free School/Adelaide" & signed "John Forsyth" who requests a loan, stating that interest "is at a high rate in this Province 12½[%] on £1000, 15 on £300, & 20 to 25 upon smaller sums. To borrow at such a rate is useless..." John & Elizabeth Forsyth arrived at Adelaide on 23.1.1849 per "Derwent". He taught first at Nairne, then in Adelaide. He was declared insolvent in 1860]
1889 cover to a typographer in "Helsingborg/Sweden" with DLR Perf 10 2d orange strip of 3 tied by very fine 'SEMAPHORE/JA7/89/S.A' squared-circle, Italian 'NAPPOLI-EUCCLE [ ? ] FERROVIA' transit b/s, minor blemishes. Scarce destination. [Helsingborg is a coastal town 9km across a waterway from Helsingor Denmark & nothing to do with Helsinki Finland]

1855 London Printings 2d rose-carmine SG 2 horizontal strip of 3, good to very large margins with a fragment of the adjoining unit at right, light strikes of Diamond Numeral '31' of Angaston, Cat £270++. A beautiful multiple.
1855 London Printings 1/- imperforate plate proof in black on ungummed unwatermarked paper corner block of 4 - two rejoined horizontal pairs - from the L/R of the sheet, margins close to huge, characteristic misalignment of the units & minor plate-burnishing between the lower pair, a little soiled as is usual for this proof. Important positional piece.

1860-69 Second Roulettes 2d bright vermilion (marginal example, a little oxidised), 6d violet-blue (no gum), 6d greenish blue, 9d grey-lilac, 'TEN PENCE' in Blue on 9d yellow, 1/- chestnut, 1/- lake-brown & 2/- rose-carmine (no gum) between SG 25 & 43, mostly with part- to large-part o.g., Cat £3000+.

1870-71 Perf 10 '3-PENCE' on 4d bright ultramarine SG 93 marginal example from the left of the sheet Imperf at Left SG 93var, unused, Cat £375+. [Gary Diffen's mint example - with perfs trimmed at the top - stated to be "the only unused example recorded" - sold for £384]
1876-1900 Broad Star 1/- bright red-brown as SG 125 but from the base of the upper pane Imperf between Stamp & the Wing-Margin, a bit soiled, 'ANGASTON/29SE82/SA' cds. [It appears that the lower-quarter of the printed area was also imperforate, which would explain the irregular separation]
1876-1904 De La Rue Narrow Crown/SA Perf 10 1d green with Double Print SG 167bb, quite well centred for this issue, tonespot that shows through to the face, undercatalogued at £400. BPA Certificate (1993) as the then SG 169var, plus a letter from the editor of the Gibbons catalogues confirming that this stamp would be listed from the 1994 edition. [Far more attractive than the only other recorded example, which is poorly centred]
1886-96 'POSTAGE & REVENUE' Perf 11½-12½ £5 brown SG 205, minor repair at U/R, CTO with Melbourne quarter-circle as usual, large-part o.g., Cat £1100 for CTO. [No postally used examples have been recorded]
