image Express Railway: 'EXPRESS RL[Y UP]/23JA24/S.A' largely superb strike on KGV 1½d green (issued in 1924). Rated RRRRR. [This is an enigma. The Handbook states that the Express Railway closed 30.9.1917. However, this example from 7 years later, and another dated 25JL18, suggest the closing date is an error, or temporary only. As an alternative, it's possible the Express cds was placed into service on the Terowie Railway, which was the only TPO still operating in 1924. It closed 31.8.1928]
