image 1842 & 1847 Leake entires to Tasmania, the first "per Emma" with an unusually fine & virtually complete b/s of the huge GPO d/s of 17DE17/1843 & Tasmanian rounded-boxed 'SHIPLETTER/9JA9/1843' b/s, the other of 5.8.1847 with postmaster's manuscript "PO/Mt Gambier" at U/L, GPO transit cds of AU+28/1847 & Launceston arrival b/s of 17SP17/1847. [Carriage of the later item would have been a month shorter if sent first to Portland] (Qty 2)

image 1855 envelope to Kent "Per Norman" with London Printing 2d rose-carmine SG 2 strip of 3 (margins close to large - except at left where a little cut-into - & a fragment of the adjoining unit at left) tied by circle-in-bars cancels of the GPO, light but obvious 'PAID/MY12/1855/=ADELAIDE SA=' cds in red, London transit cds of 1OC1/1855 in red on the face & very fine 'ROCHESTER' arrival b/s of the same day, minor blemishes. A very attractive First Issue cover.

image 1859 large-part entire to Scotland with Adelaide Printing 6d slate-blue SG 10 (margins just shaved - at right - to huge with fragments of adjoining units below & at left, affected by a very light ironed-out filing fold) tied by superb dumb small circle-in-bars cancel, 'PAID/JA14/1859/=ADELAIDE-S.A.=' cds in blue & very fine 'P M/ EDINBURGH/AP1/59' arrival b/s. A very scarce franking. Ex Michael Blake. [The letter headed "Govt Free School/Adelaide" & signed "John Forsyth" who requests a loan, stating that interest "is at a high rate in this Province 12½[%] on £1000, 15 on £300, & 20 to 25 upon smaller sums. To borrow at such a rate is useless..." John & Elizabeth Forsyth arrived at Adelaide on 23.1.1849 per "Derwent". He taught first at Nairne, then in Adelaide. He was declared insolvent in 1860]

Scarce destination. [Helsingborg is a coastal town 9km across a waterway from Helsingor Denmark & nothing to do with Helsinki Finland]
