1874-76 PERF 11½-12½x10: 1d deep green SG O2 rejoined horizontal pair, the horizontal perfs a little misplaced & the Overprint Misplaced to Right resulting in the 'S.' at right being largely off the stamp, 'GPO ADELAIDE/MR2/75/S-A', Cat £950++. A rare multiple.
1874-76 PERF 11½-12½x10: 1d deep green as SG O2 from the left of the sheet Imperforate at Left, minor separation fault at upper-left, 'GPO ADELAIDE/FE13/74/S-A' cds, Cat £475++. A rare error.
1874-77 PERF 11½-12½: 1d deep green Printed on Both Sides SG O6a with the original impression on the 'reverse' upright relative to the 'face', 'GPO ADELAIDE/SP25/74/S-A' cds, Cat £1400. A rare stamp: only 13 examples have been recorded. Gary Diffen's two examples each sold for £780.

1876-85 BROAD STAR PERF 10x11½-12½: 4d deep mauve SG O17 block of 26 (9x3, without the last unit) being overprint positions [25-34/38-46/50-57] from the forme of 60 (10x6), evidence of a Dry Print affecting the last four units, well centred, large-part o.g. with most units being unmounted, Cat £2080++, for unused singles. A superb and rare multiple.
1876-85 BROAD STAR PERF 10x11½-12½: 4d deep mauve with the Overprint Inverted SG O17d, well centred, light 'SHIP MAIL ROOM/MY24/84/ADELAIDE' duplex cancel, Cat £500. Gary Diffen recorded eight examples in private hands: his similarly cancelled stamp - minor separation fault at lower-left - sold for £335.
1876-85 BROAD STAR PERF 10x11½-12½: 4d deep mauve horizontal pair Imperforate Between SG O17e, the right-hand unit with No Stop after 'S ' SG O17a, Cat £2500 plus a significant premium for the Omitted Stop. Gary Diffen recorded only two pairs: his pair - without the Missing Stop variety - sold for £1920.

1876-85 BROAD STAR PERF 10x11½-12½: 6d bright blue SG O18 lower-left corner block of 36 (6x6) comprising the last row of the overprinting forme plus the complete overprinting forme of 30 (6x5), several different Damaged 'O's, '6d.' printed in the margin at the lower-left corner, horizontal crease across the second row, iron-spots affecting four units (and evident from the face) & light gum blemishes, some minor perf separation/reinforcing, large-part o.g. with many units being unmounted, Cat £5760++, for mounted singles. A remarkable piece, being one of the largest surviving multiples with Type 1 'O.S.' Overprints. Sold at the Rodney Perry auction of 6.12.1979. (Image1)

1876-85 BROAD STAR PERF 10x11½-12½: 6d bright blue vertical pair with Dry Print, the lower unit with No Stop after 'O ' SG O18b, light cds cancels, Cat £650+. Gary Diffen's single stamp - the only example recorded by him - sold for £348.
1876-85 BROAD STAR PERF 10x11½-12½: 6d bright ultramarine SG O19 block of 20 being overprint positions [5-8/17-20/29-32/41-44/53-56] from the forme of 60 (10x6), the upper-right unit with 'O.S.' Shaved at Top and the second unit on the third row with Break at Lower-Right of 'O', light vertical bend across the second column, some gum-toning that is evident in parts from the face, large-part o.g., Cat £3200++, for unused singles.
1876-85 BROAD STAR PERF 10x11½-12½: 6d bright ultramarine as SG O19 but with Double Print horizontal pair, the doubling evident across both units & contributing to an unusually deep & bright shade, large-part o.g., Cat £320++, for normal unused singles. Unlisted by Gibbons.

Inverted SG O21a Irregular Compound Perf 10x11½-12½x11½-12½x11½-12½, an unusually large stamp in a really striking shade, indistinct duplex cancel, Cat £750. Gary Diffen recorded only five used examples in private hands: his stamp sold for £455.

A remarkable double error that is unlisted by Gibbons, was absent from Gary Diffen's collection, and may be the only recorded example.

RPSofV Certificate (1963) as the then SG 425 states "imperforate between", which is true but our assessment is that it is also imperf at the sides. Absent from Gary Diffen's collection, and believed to be the only recorded example.

1876-85 BROAD STAR PERF 11½-12½: 6d Prussian blue as SG O25 but Imperforate, good even margins, very lightly cancelled. Unlisted by Gibbons. Absent from Gary Diffen's collection, and believed to be the only recorded example. It might be thought that perforations have been trimmed from all sides of this stamp. However, stamps with perforations clear of the design on all sides are extremely elusive and we consider the likelihood of perfs having been removed from this stamp to be extremely low. We share Don Pearce's confidence that this is a genuine error.
1876-85 BROAD STAR PERF 11½-12½: 6d Prussian blue SG O25 solo franking on OHMS cover with 'Council of Education/Adelaide' imprint at lower-left, fine strike of the rare 'REGISTERED ADELAIDE/ 6 /DE21/77/S.A' cds (Type #F1-1) & curved 'REGISTERED/No___' handstamp, 'KAPUNDA' arrival backstamp, repaired tear across the flap.The Datestamp Handbook records only one example of the Registration cds, of OC22/79.

The rate was 6d + 6d registration.
1876-85 BROAD STAR PERF 11½-12½: 2/- deep rose-carmine with 'O.S.' Double SG O29a, GPO cds cancel, Cat £950. Superior to the example sold at our auction of 14.11.2014 for $950. Gary Diffen recorded only three used examples in private hands: his stamp sold for £420.
