The ACSC states that only a mint pair (and no used examples) has been recorded. This stamp is more attractive than Gary Diffen's example that sold for £385.
EIGHT PENCE: 8d ultramarine with the Value 16mm Wide ACSC S46 (SG 285) on cover - undercatalogued at $750 - to the Canal Zone, 'REGISTERED/JU4/07ADELAIDE' squared-circle & 'R'-in-oval handstamp, most unusual 'Transmitted through Seattle,/Wash., as registered mail./JUL 5 1907' & New York transit backstamps, 'ANCON, CANAL ZONE/JUL 23 1907/REGISTERED' in blue & 'STA. A, ANCON CZ/REGISTERED' arrival backstamp of the next day, minor soiling and a little travel-weary. The foreign letter rate was 2½d x2 + 3d registration fee. Jeff Harris' similar registered cover to Germany sold for $1105.
NINE PENCE: 9d brown-red SG 286 marginal horizontal pair from the top of the sheet Imperforate at Top ACSC S50b, very lightly mounted, Cat $6000++, for two used singles; unpriced unused. Superb. The ACSC records only one used (and no unused) example. Gary Diffen's mint single sold for £840.
NINE PENCE: 9d brown-red SG 286 marginal single from the top of the sheet Imperforate at Top ACSC S50b, indistinct cds, Cat $3000. Stated by the ACSC to be the only recorded used example, and illustrated there. Sold at a Sydney auction of 22.10.2003 for $2035.
TEN PENCE: 10d brown-orange SG 287 vertical interpanneau pair with the lower unit Imperforate at Top ACSC S53bb, Cat $1500+, for just the lower single. Gary Diffen stated that only one pair and a single were recorded. The Ed Williams/Gary Diffen pair sold for £385.

TEN PENCE: 10d brown-orange SG 287 marginal single from the left of the sheet Imperforate at Left S53bc with full sheet margin, tiny black mark on the face, Cat $2000. The ACSC states "...has been recorded but no details are available". Gary Diffen states that five examples have been recorded. His truncated example - trimmed just left of the jubilee line - sold for £420.
TEN PENCE: 10d brown-orange corner pair from the upper-right of the sheet Imperforate Between S53b (SG 287a) with Value/Sheet Number '10d 000874' in Vermilion, the right-hand margin detached & rejoined, ink notation in the side-margin, Cat $2500+ (£3500+), for a pair with the Sheet Number. Ex Friedrich Krichauff and 'Hamilton'. Gary Diffen states that eight pairs and a block of 4 have been recorded, "although, unusually, this error is rarely offered at auction". His pair sold for £1920.

ONE SHILLING: 1/- brown marginal block of 4 from the left of the sheet comprising two vertical pairs Imperforate Between Horizontally S54ba (SG 288a), ink notation in the margin, very lightly mounted, Cat $4000+ (£6000+), for two pairs. Superb. Ex Friedrich Krichauff. Gary Diffen recorded eight pairs in private hands & stated "one is damaged and most exhibit slight imperfections". His pair sold for £1440. Ric Slade-Slade had a block of 4 but it has probably been split into pairs, and included in Gary Diffen's census.
FIVE SHILLINGS: Perf 12½ 5/- rose-pink SG 290b upper-right corner block of 4 with Value/Sheet Number '5/- 001088' in Vermilion ACSC S66z, mounted in the upper margin only, the stamps are superb unmounted, Cat $1050++, for two mounted singles & a mounted Sheet Number pair (£520++, for mounted singles). A technically important piece that evidences reintroduction of Crown/SA paper in 1910, four years after introduction of the Crown/A paper.
TEN SHILLINGS: 10/- sage-green ACSC S68 (SG 291) with Feather on 'E' of 'TEN' two mint examples (one with hinge remainders) and Feather on 'T' of 'TEN' used, Cat $700+ (£550+) for normal stamps. [Unknown to JRW ('Bill') Purves. Apparently a small piece of foreign matter that moved across the plate]

TEN SHILLINGS: 10/- sage-green ACSC S68 (SG 291) plus 6d & 1/- x2 pairs - probably all from the Crown/A issue - & 1d rosine tied to parcel piece by 'REGD ADELAIDE/STH AUSTRALIA' cds with largely indistinct 1912 date. A very rare franking, being the only postal article known by us franked with the 10/-. The 6d is Cat $400 on cover, but the 1/- & 10/- are both unpriced on cover.
The item has been franked a total of 14/7d (presumably including 3d registration). The highest recorded parcel rates at the time were 5/8d for an interstate parcel or 7/- for a parcel to Britain, parcels being limited to items weighing no more than 11lb (pounds). However, rates to foreign countries, while largely unknown, were much higher. We believe, therefore, that it was sent to a foreign destination, probably Germany or the United States. This, of course, is conjecture and we would welcome any suggestions based on knowledge of the actual rates.
