The unmounted 'Besancon' (I) strip of 3 sold for SFr3960.
ONE SHILLING: 1/- deep red-brown SG 148 on OHMS cover to "614 Masonic Temple/ Minneapolis, Minn[esota]", 'REGISTERED ADELAIDE/SE9/02/S.A' squared-circle and superb 'R'-in-oval handstamp, London (on the face) & New York (on the reverse) transits and a largely superb strike of the personalised 'MINNEAPOLIS, MINN/REGISTRY DIVISION/OCT 20 1902/WD HALL/ACTING P.M.' arrival backstamp (a remarkable datestamp) in violet, very minor blemishes.
