Renamed from Comatie Drift PA -.8.1893; renamed Komatiepoort PO -.-.1897. This is apparently the only recorded date of usage for the numeral cancel.

image Marthinus Wesselstroom (1): Concentric Multi-Ring Numeral '10' largely very fine strike on First British Occupation 4d green & 6d olive (minor faults) on cover to England, no despatch cds, 'DURBAN/ 8/9/1879/NATAL' transit and 'COLCHESTER/OC9/79' arrival b/s, edge fault at right. The Packet Letter rate to Great Britain via Natal was 10d per ½oz comprising 4d letter rate to Natal plus 6d Packet to UK. Office opened 1861; closed after 1884. Putzel rated RR in this period. Mathews lists this numeral as allocated to M.W.Stroom, but apparently no 'tie' is recorded.

Office opened circa 1868; PO 1.11.1887; transferred to Natal 1.6.1902. One dated use of 13.08.1879 is recorded, making this only the second dated and now earliest known usage of the numeral.
