1863 cover to Victoria with Rough Perf 14-16 6d deep green SG 17 tied by very fine Rays '87' of 'IPSWICH' (b/s), Brisbane transit & very fine Melbourne arrival b/s of MY-25/63 in red. A top-quality Classic cover which, for Queensland, is a rarity. Absent from Ben Palmer's Census: in fact, he records no 1863 covers to Victoria.
1867 entire town letter being a largely printed shareholders' notice for the Brisbane Gas Company with Chalons 1d vermilion tied by 'QL'-in-Rays cancel, superb b/s of the distinctive & rare Type 2 '67/MR2/ B /=BRISBANE=' cds, two vertical folds just clear of the stamp with associated soiling. [See Hugh Campbell at page 176, where his Types 1 & 2 are transposed. At page 175, he states that the LRD is 2.2.1867]
1873 cover from an unknown Queensland port to "Redfern/Sydney", rated "3" & endorsed "Late Fee" with 3d greenish grey SG 66 x2 - one damaged - cancelled on arrival at Sydney where superb double-oval 'LOOSE SHIP/LETTER' handstamp struck below, minor blemishes. Ben Palmer's Census at page 110. [The inter-colonial rate was 3d + 3d late fee]
