Mangrove Bay. c.1876 (Apr 4) Cover to the Solicitor General R.D Darrell in Hamilton, a 1d rose-red cancelled by "PAID" c.d.s, number omitted and the year shown as "187", probably from Mangrove Bay (with two contemporary envelopes to the same address and in the same handwriting known to be from Mangrove Bay). Light horizontal crease crosses the stamp, otherwise fine and unique, the only recorded example of this Paid c.d.s used as a cancellation recorded on cover, ex Osborn and Ludington. Photo on Page 66.
