Too Late. 1896 (Oct 14) Cover with "Royal Naval Club, Bermuda" printed flap, posted from Ireland Island to "Capt. Canning, 2nd Leinster Regt., Boaz" franked 1d, handstamped "Too Late", a little roughly opened at upper edge, otherwise fine, the only recorded example of this Ireland Island "Too Late" handstamp. 1928-76 Covers with explanatory handstamps, comprising 1928 cover from Hamilton to Pembroke with scarce "CANNOT BE FOUND"; 1941 stampless cover to the P.O Savings Bank in London headed "O.H.M.S" with red "INSUFFICIENT POSTAGE FOR AIR MAIL", a Bermuda Tax handstamp deleted by two ovals of bars; 1952 St. Kitts air letter and 1976 G.B cover to Barbuda with differing "MISSENT TO BERMUDA" handstamps. 1880 (Feb 1) Stampless cover from Hamilton to Warwick with a Hamilton duplex, apparently delivered free of charge; and 1881 stampless cover to Hamilton endorsed by the "Mystery", probably landed as a consignees letter with St. Georges c.d.s (Aug 9) and "T" handstamp (earliest recorded example for Bermuda), charged 2d. Some faults, the first with two small worm holes, second with missing flap and edge tear, nevertheless a very unusual pair. (2).
