1889 (Aug 2) Two covers posted on the same day to the same London address, one franked Crown CC 4d, endorsed "S.S Alpha via Halifax"; the other franked at the 1d printed matter rate endorsed "Printed Circular", both cancelled by the Hamilton duplex type K4, carried by the Pickford & Black S.S Co. "Alpha" to Halifax and then by Dominion Line "Vancouver". A fine and unusual pair showing the differing letter and circular rates. (2).
