1900-01 Covers sent by British soldiers guarding Boer P.O.Ws, a 1900 cover with West India Regt. crest on the flap franked 1d to "Lieut. E.L Christie, 14th Battn Imperial Yeomanry, Field Force, South Africa", redirected to England; and a 1901 cover to USA franked Farthing pair + 1d (2) with an enclosed letter from H.A Kaulbach of The Royal Warwickshire Regt., which includes "We are guarding Boer Prisoners having arrived from South Africa last July. The whole Battn was knocked out by Malaria contracted at Komati Poort". Also a patriotic postcard franked 1d to USA, the message including "We have another Regt. here, the 4th Battn Worcester to help guard the Boers who in spite of the lies to the contrary are very well treated and looked after". 1901-02 Covers to England franked 1d, one headed "2563 C. Park F. Coy 2 / R. War. R. Bermuda, West Indies", the second with return address of Cpl. C. Park on the reverse, with his location given as Hawkins Island, both with small stain at top, the second a little roughly opened at right. Also a long O.H.M.S envelope posted within Hamilton franked 1d with oval cachet "COMMANDANT / 11 JUN 1902 / HAWKIN'S", vertical folds and minor edge faults. The Royal Warwickshire Regt. were sent to Bermuda to guard the Boer P.O Ws. (3).
