image 1840 (Oct 29) Entire letter written by Alexander Milne, Captain of H.M.S "Crocodile", to his father in Scotland charged 1/-, increased to 1/1 upon redirection, backstamped by a fine "BERMUDA" large fleuron (Oct. 30). Milne has just arrived at Bermuda after a rough nine day passage from St. Johns, and has been made Commander of H.M.S "Cleopatra". He describes the work to defend the dockyard, and includes a plan of the area. A fine fleuron datestamp and an interesting letter. Photo on Page 6. (Image1)
