Tahira. 1926 (Mar 15) Commercial cover to USA franked 3d (S.G. 98) cancelled by the very scarce "TAHIRA / PAPUA" c.d.s, a second strike alongside, backstamped at Sydney. The office at Tahira opened in December 1925 to serve the small New Guinea Copper Co. settlement; it closed ten months later in October 1926 shortly before the collapse of the Copper Co.
