image 1870, used in SEYCHELLES, magnificent franking of Mauritius 4d/rose pair and France 1867 20c/blue (4) on large piece of cover, all cancelled by strikes of B64 Seychelles black obliterator, above ds SEYCHELLES, March 13 1870, the only known item with combination of Mauritius and French stamps, the British authorities objected to the French that a French consular in one of their dependencies was acting as a post officer, this French franking was not accepted by the Bristish Postal authorities and Mauritius stamps was added., the service that a French official was acting as a post agent in Mahe, receiving mail from the French Colonies in the region and transmitting them to France, was terminating at British request in 1870, rates for French post were 5 decimes prepaid or decimes unpaid per 20 grams, signed Brun and Calves, exceedingly rare entire and a magnificent showpiece, VF-XF!
