1914-15 5mm Spacing '1d.' on 5pf SG 17 complete Setting 2 including Flat Top on '1' SG 17c x2 [Pos 2 & 9] both in pairs, [Pos 3] is actually on '2d.' on 20pf SG SG 19, [Pos 5 & 8] are both used, Cat £450+.

' Surcharges on German-Pattern Registration Labels Town Name in Sans-Serif Type 'Stephansort/(Deutsch Neu-Guinea)' SG 40, almost vertical crease & a few short perfs, 'STEPHANSORT' "frozen" cds, Cat £4500. Ferdinand Wallner (Vienna) Certificate (1964) without photograph but the stamp very lightly signed on the reverse in pencil. [A key GRI stamp of which only 24 examples, including 14 singles, have been recorded. Those numbers represent both unused & used stamps]

1915-16 Overprints on Kangaroos First Watermark 6d ultramarine with Mangled (Retouched) Second 'E' in 'PENCE' SG 78a [1R60], well centred, a few nibbled perfs, Cat £7500. Chris Ceremuga Certificate (2013) states "extremely rare variety...as few as only 17 examples..." [Tim Rybak's two singles sold at our auction of 26.4.2008 for $3910 (faded) & $7762 respectively]
1915-16 Overprints on Kangaroos First Watermark 2½d indigo SG 74 Plate 2 complete forme of 30 from the base of the left-hand pane [2L31-60] with Thick Frame at Upper-Right [31], Scratch over 'W' of 'TWO' [32], Thick WA Coastline [43] & Retouch to Upper-Right of Value Circle [55], with full sheet margins at left & base and 'JBC' Monogram, above-average centring, very lightly mounted on the top row & behind the monogram otherwise unmounted. A superb forme. [Only the KGV 1d & the Kangaroo 2½d from the first printings were issued with selvedge. In every other case, the margins were removed from the formes of 30. Superior to the similar formes of 30 - graded 'A/B' & 'A/A-' - that sold in our auctions of 6.8.2021 & 3.12.2021 for $10,480 & $16,175 respectively]
