An extremely rare genuine official police runner-mail cover from the remote NW of the Territory. [Vanimo is a coastal town 40km E of the Dutch New Guinea border. Krisa is 25km inland due S of Vanimo. George Arthur Vickers Stanley, geographer & geologist, spent most of his working life doing oil exploration surveys in the north of New Guinea, interrupted by war service during which he recruited locals to act as Australian agents behind the Japanese lines]
