image QUEENSLAND: Thursday Island group comprising three early 1900s real photo cards - two with 'Empire' backs of the Township and of the Jetty titled 'The Parade'; another of the Township & Docks with 'O.Watson Photo' imprint - and a c.1950s real photo card with view of a steamer approching the Island all unused, also a Township view with 'O.Watson Photographer' imprint sent 1913 to UK with Kangaroo 1d red tied 'THURSDAY ISLAND' Commonwealth-type cds and the 'Main St' with shops, houses & church and an Aboriginal boy in foreground with KGV ½d green affixed on view side tied by 1915 cds (not posted), plus a view 'from the Wharf' (Jetty) and two Township views with Horn Island in the distance, a few with minor blemishes but mostly fine to very fine. image QUEENSLAND: Thursday Island 'ANT HILL HEIGHT 28FT, THURSDAY ISLAND' postcard on thick stock with 'BM 64483' imprint on address side showing two men or horseback beside the impressive ant hill which towers above them, sent to Japan in 1916 (Dec 24) with KGV ½d green & 1d red tied 'THURSDAY ISLAND/QUEENSLAND' cds paying the foreign postcard rate (minor corner bend), plus another with an almost identical view captioned 'Ant Hill, 28 feet high, North Queensland' on much thinner stock with 'O. Watson, Photographer' imprint sent to NSW in 1914 (Feb 16) with Kangaroo 1d red tied 'THURSDAY ISLAND' cds paying the domestic postcard rate and message "Port Darwin, South Australia 6.2.14 leaving for Thursday Island tomorrow" (very fine condition). A most interesting 'pair'. (Qty 2)

image 1920s Felix the Cat British edition picture postcards showing development of Felix's image and personality, many postally used in the mid-1920s & another with a British Empire Exhibition reference from 1924 or 1925, noted a couple of duplicates, mostly fine to very fine & a few are unused. [Felix the Cat came to life in 1919.
