1878 VG. An interesting coin in that $3 gold pieces rarely circulated during the time they were minted, nor any time afterward as far as we can tell. This coin must have been the pocket piece of a wealthy enthusiast to be in the grade that it is in. Here's an opportunity to get one of the scarcer type coins at perhaps an affordable price. (Image)
(60) Assorted incl (11) Flying Eagle 1857 // 1858, (18) Indian 1859 // 1885, & (31) Lincoln 1909 // 1943 various grades (low to Unc). Coins were headed for bid board silent auction before Covid. (Image)
