Cat No: G 1861O(6)

image (6) Diff commons 1861-O // 1876 all AG to G+ originals. The half dollar was routinely used in the channels of commerce after 1875 and circulated widely. Seated halves were common in circulation thru the 1920s. They began to disappear when coin collecting (from circulation) became popular in the 1930s. But their long-time use as a medium of exchange explains why many of them (along with the Barber series) are so worn. Too bad they can't talk and tell us where they've been and how they were used.
