Interesting group of pre-printed form letters regarding the ordering of bank notes 1844-46, (5) from Rawdon, Wright & Hatch; one from Draper, Toppan & Co., one from Danforth, Spencer & Hufty, describing orders of "impressions" for several banks, incl Mechanics Banking Assoc., Commercial Bank of Troy, Chester Bank and New York Stock Bank; these were all mailed as folded letters (flattened for display) so each has address and postmark (pre-stamp period); bonus: 1858 letter on Rawdon, Wright, Hatch & Edson stationery discussing an order for the Corn Exchange Bank; fascinating collateral material for an Obsolete Bank Note collection (Image)
