image 1857 Liberty F+ attractive for the grade. The wear indicates that small gold saw quite a bit of use in commerce in the 1850s. A scarce issue AU and above. Authors Garrett & Guth recommend that if you want to purchase a circulated Liberty Quarter Eagle, look for an older one with some numismatic premium such as the one offered here. (Image)
