1828-74 Stampless entire letters or entires from the USA to France, three sent as ship letters with boxed "PAYS D'OUTREMER / PAR LE HAVRE" in red or black, or red "OUTRE-MER / PAUILLAC" c.d.s, the others sent by various packets including Havre Line, Collins Line, Guion Line, etc. Includes letter carried on the final voyage of the "Franklin" with red "PAID / 20" of New Orleans, also boxed "NOT PAID" of New York, "G.B/2F" and "G.B/3F60c" Anglo-French accountancy marks, etc. (11).

Herout & de Handel Line. 1847-48 Entire letters from New York to Cognac carried on the final voyages of the Herout & de Handel Line steamers "Union", "New York" or "Missouri" (final voyage of the shipping line), all with "LE HAVRE / PAQ. REG." arrival datestamps, number "1" in blue (2) or number "2" in red. This line only completed nine round transatlantic voyages before it ceased operations. Two with some discolouration to vertical file folds, otherwise fine. (3).

U.S. PKT Handstamp. 1851 (Oct 10) Entire letter from Philadelphia to Brussels with red octagonal "PHILA / 5cts / PAID" altered in manuscript to "21cts", sent by Collins Line "Baltic" with "U.S PKT" handstamp applied in London (Tabeart P.8), boxed rate handstamp applied at Ostende. Unobtrusive repaired edge tear at lower left, otherwise fine and unusual.
