Italian States - Papal State 1852. 3 bajocchi orange-bistre, horizontal block of ten as well as two single copies, all cancelled with "mute" papal grill, on large format letter sent from Agagni on 18 November 1855 to Ascoli. Vertical fold through the block and letter. Certificate Raybaudi. Sassone approx. 100,000 €. ÷ 1852. 3 bajocchi bistro arancio, blocco orizzontale die dieci esemplate oltre a due esemplari singoli, tutti annullati con bolli "muti" a losanga pontificia su involucro di lettera di grande formato spedita da Agagni 18 novembre 1855 per Ascoli. Italian States - Papal State 1859, 23. August, folded letter from Perugia (Papal State) to Kreuzhütte/Klentsch in Bohemia (then Austrian). The Second Italian Independence War (between Sardinia and Austria) forced the letter to a detour via Switzerland. The front shows a K2 "PERUGIA 23 AGO 59" and several tax marks in red and black, the reverse a K1 "Chur-St. Gallen 30 8 7M 1859" and a L2 "FELDKIRCH 30 AUG" both documenting the Swiss transit. Next days L2 FELDKIRCH and BREGENZ and K1 "BODENBACH 2/9" und "PRAG 2 9" document the further journey to Kletsch, where it arrived in September 4th. ÷ 1859, 23. August, Faltbrief aus Perugia, Umbrien im Kirchenstaat nach Kreuzhütte bei Klentsch, Böhmen, Österreich, wegen des Sardisch-Österreichischen Krieges über die neutrale Schweiz geleitet. Der Brief zeigt Adressseitig einen privaten Absenderstempel sowie K2 "PERUGIA 23 AGO 59" und etliche, teils gestrichene Taxen in rot und schwarz. Der Weg durch die Schweiz ist rückseitig mit einem K1 "Chur-St. Gallen 30 8 7M 1859" und einem L2 "FELDKIRCH 30 AUG" gut dokumentiert. FELDKIRCH hat den Brief am nächsten Tag (L2 FELDKIRCH 31 AUG") nach Bregenz gegeben, von wo er über K1 "BODENBACH 2/9" und "PRAG 2 9" am 4.9 in Kletsch ankam. Condition: Cover (Image)
