1851-61 A small group of 'classic' Italian States stamp believed to be reprints or forgeries. Includes Sardinia 40c red with inverted centre unused , Tuscany 1851 2s red on blue-grey used, 1860 80c used (thinned), Sicily 1859 2g bright blue, Parma 5c black on yellow, plus a couple of other values, some noted as reprints, others with faults. 1852 Group of States taken from an old Imperial album, very mixed condition but ideal for study, incls: Modena 15c on yellow imperf 4 margin used. 25c on buff used both with faults. 40c on deep blue with dot after value 2 margin used. Naples 2g & 5g imperfs assumed forgeries. Neapolitan Provinces imperf embossed heads ½g green m.m. 2g blue used & 5g used.Papal States imperf ½b trimmed, 1b trimmed, 2b showing double frame on all sides, 3b trimmed,5b x 2, 6b x 2 one cut to shape, 7b cut sq 4 margin dealer mark on back small thin, 2c green on glazed paper. 10c & 20c perf 13. Sicily 1859 2g blue imperf SG3 used faults. Tuscany 1851 4c used faults 1857 6c blue thinned. 1860 10c purple brown SG44 used & 20c blue used trimmed.
