image 1859 (July 13) Cover to Breslau, Prussia, via England, prepaid 6d with red boxed "PAID" of Hong Kong (Proud PD1) on the front and a "HONG KONG / C" backstamp (July 16), a further "6" charge and the correct "1/8" charge both written in red crayon but crossed out, endorsed "undercharge from Shanghae 1/2" in black. Handstamped red oval "P", datestamps of London Paid (Sep 19), Aachen and Breslau. An extraordinary cover, accepted underpaid in Shanghai, the 1/2 possibly charged to the senders account. York Br. Pkt. Paid c.d.s (Nov 27, tying the 12c stamp). Carried from Liverpool on the British Cunard Packet "Scotia", red "5 / CENTS" (due to the USA), with red manuscript "1" and "1/9½". A fine Shanghai cover with a Hong Kong forwarding agent's cachet.
