COLOUR TRIAL: 1898 set of four 2d imperforate colour trials printed on gummed unwatermarked wove; respectively in orange, orange-brown, bright yellow (adopted colour) and lemon-yellow. These were produced in connection with the colour change from grey (SG 96) to yellow (SG 113 issued in Jan 1899), A handsome and very rare quartet, with the only other set known to us remaining on the original 'Appendix' sheet.
