Includes 1769 EL to Newport Pagnell with very fine s/l "SWANZEY" mark on back flap BCC W2217 (first year of use); 1824 EL Swansea to London having "SWANSEA/209" mileage c.d.s. on reverse, Oct. 1841 EL from Mumbles to Cardiff bearing pair of Pl.8 1d reds (damage to right hand stamp) tied by black MX's; Oct. 1841 EL Swansea to Cardiff with manuscript "1" in red; Mar. 1845 EL from Llantwit Major to London having 3 margin 1d rd tied by indistinct numeral with good strike of "Lantwitt/PennyPost" in black on flap. UNRECORDED NARBETH PENNY POST MARKING; V.fine printed 27 Sep. 1822 EL (Insurance enquiry) to Narbeth with mostly fine "NARBETH/256" mileage mark on front with an unrecorded "Penny Post" h.s. in the same ink directly below and previously unrecorded. SWANSEA SHIP LETTER; 1866 unfranked & unpaid env. 'via England' to Boston, possibly ex British West Indies with step-framed "SWANSEA/SHIP LETTER" and Swansea cds on front. Initially rated '6' deleted and re-rated '12' and further rated '33/48' with a "IN U.S.NOTES" h.s. (currency mark) alongside.
