1899-1900 De La Rue Pictorials ½d to 6d imperforate colour trials in the issued colours on unwatermarked paper. A unique and important set.

68 separate colour trials were produced: each is unique, which causes us to believe that they are all die proofs, not plate proofs, reduced to stamp-size to enable the Agent-General to easily compare the trials for each denomination. All are illustrated in "The De La Rue Collection" edited by Frank Walton RDP. (8)

It seems incomprehensible that these strips, issued only in the smallest State, should be worth a mere 4% of their Kangaroo cousins]
