1863: St. George & Dragon, 3 s. imperforate Plate Proof in a vertical pair with, for this, large margins all round, engraved by Alfred Bock in black on unwatermarked white wove paper. An exceptional and extremely rare multiple - see 'Stamps of Tasmania' where Basset Hull states that in 1889 Bock had the 5 s. and 10 s. Proof values still available but would not part with his sole example of the 3d: "which I think is the best of the series". (Image 1)(Image 2)(Image)
