DITCHLING UDC WITH M.S. "Left. Not no ware" IN CENTRE [+ "Found in N.P.B./without contents" WRAPPER]; Attractive 24 July 1852 env. from Reigate (c.d.s. on back) to "Mr. Groce, Bull Inn, Ditchling" with 1d Red (v. near 4m) tied by Reigate "637" Numeral, but also having a very fine rare blue " DITCHLING" UDC nicely placed in the opposite corner with the ill-spelled endorsement "Left. Not no ware" (!) in the centre; rare example of a UDC adapted as an instructional marking. Plus a battered 1885 usage of the QV ½d Brown wrapper from London to Ireland with 3 boxed "N.P.B." d.s. and a very fine boxed "Found in N.P.B./without contents" (early usage).
