image MACHIN FDCs FOR THE UK: Five cartons containing an incredible, well written-up & mounted collection in padded Lindner albums (with quality Lindner inserts and slipcases) of first day covers for the 15 Feb. 1971 Machin issue during the 1971 postal strike (c.30-40 pages per album). Comprising: 8 albums with covers franked in UK towns & cities arranged alphabetically, each with a "POSTING DELAYED BY THE POST OFFICE STRIKE 1971" cachet (in a wide variety of formats); one album with non-GPO cachets; 3 albums of covers with no cachets; and 6 box files which inc. a mix of cachet and non-cachet items, also mounted and in alphabetical order by town (c. 100 pages per box), with a large section of FDCs from Forces Post Offices, and some aftermath of strike mail.
