1907 Large Canoes ½d to 1/- SG 1-7 annotated pages identifying the six different subtypes in each value, comprising ½d x12 including two pairs, 1d x14 including a complete strip of the 6 types, 2d x16 including a complete strip of the 6 types, 2½d x12 including a complete strip of the 6 types, 5d x7, 6d x8 & 1/- x9, a few with characteristic gum problems or tonespots but probably 80%+ are very fine & fresh with large-part o.g. & some are superb, Cat £3000++. A very desirable lot.

1922-31 Script 1/- black/green as SG 48 but with 'A' of Watermark '[Crown]/CA' Missing, minor perf defects at top. Unlisted by Gibbons: probably because noone drew it to their attention when it was sold at the Prestige auction of 24.10.2009 for $580. [We note that the same error on the KGVI Pictorials 1/- is priced at £1200]
POSTAL HISTORY: Two 1945 commercial covers from Siota island or 'LUNGA' with the scarce straight-line 'PASSED BY CENSOR 2' 68mm long h/s (Little #H3a5) of Tulagi in violet or black; post-WWII bundle of commercial covers to 1980 including 1963 town letter at 1d rate, inter-island 2d & 3d (airmail) rates, several with 'WORLD UNITED/AGAINST MALARIA' h/s (one a larger type on registered air cover at 3/9d rate to NZ), some postmark interest including huge Postal Agency types & 1965 'TELEGRAM' envelope with double-oval 'POSTS & TELEGRAPHS/HONIARA' d/s, also 3 philatelic with different Barakoma Airfield cancels, condition variable.
