1860 Large Star Imperf 1d rose-carmine SG 1, margins close to good, unused, Cat £6500. The RPSofV declined to issue a certificate on the basis that the margins were too narrow for them to be confident that it wasn't an example of SG 4 with the perfs removed. We doubt that is the case. For starters, SG 4 is a rare stamp in its own right, Cat £3000. Secondly, the chance of an SG 4 existing without the perfs intruding onto the design on at least one side is a real long shot. However, we must necessarily offer it 'as is'.
