1868-74 Truncated Star Perf 13 2d bright blue Plate II horizontal pair Imperforate Between, large-part o.g. From the 1895 official reprints: Gibbons in a footnote below SG 82 states "One sheet is known to have had the perforations missing between the fourth & fifth vertical rows", meaning that only ten such pairs can exist. Ex 'Besancon' (III). BPA Certificate (1991).
1868-78 Crown/Q Perf 12 4d yellow SG 102, well centred, large-part o.g., Cat £1700. Possibly the finest example we have offered. Chris Ceremuga Certificate (2017) states "very rare" & "superb".
1868-78 Crown/Q Perf 12 6d yellow-green SG 106 block of 9 from the top of the sheet, the upper units with Horizontal Watermark Line Only (Crown/Q Omitted), minor stains/tonespots, large-part o.g., Cat £2250++.
1880 Lithographed High Values 20/- rose SG 127, strong colour, a few characteristic shortish perfs, large-part o.g., Cat £2500. Chris Ceremuga Certificate (2020) states "very rare in mint condition".
PHANTOM STAMPS: 1870s (circa) Torres Strait Settlements 2c brown to 36c carmine-rose complete, large-part o.g. and unusually fine. [We have a record of a very fine set selling at a Sydney auction for $2500. The Brussels Find, offered in the Prestige sale of 7.5.2013, included not a single example of the 2c] (6)
