Useful postmarks group including Barred Numerals '74' (rated RRR) x3, '86' (RRR) x3 (one with RPSofV Certificate), Rays '133' & '201' (both RRRR), oval 'DRAYTON/NEW.S.WALES', CDS 'DALBY/=NSW=' & 'DRAYTON/ =NSW=' x2, and large-part 'REGIST[ERED]/IPSW[ICH]' h/s, many fine to very fine strikes with some duplication but on different stamps including several Sydney Views, Laureates to 3d, (6d) 'REGISTERED' x4 & Diadems to 1/-, condition variable. 1892 cover to "David Hill/The Treasury/Melbourne" with scarce albeit philatelic franking of Stamp Duty 1/- blue-green - unpriced on cover by Gibbons - tied by 'QL-in-Rays, Melbourne arrival b/s.
1899-1901 OHMS covers to Brisbane with various Police cachets from Cairns, Longreach x3 different, Maryborough x2, Normanton x2 & Rockhampton, stamps include 4d yellow x6. Covers from this source are common but are usually defective. These are amongst the finest from the 'find'.

1912Thomas Heaslow [?] Grocers & Hardware Merchants parcel tag to GB with rare franking of 3d 5d 9d x2 & 10/- all tied by 'REGISTERED/30AU12/BRISBANE' cds in blue, the 10/- also tied by London arrival d/s of 7OC12 in red, some creasing & adhesions plus some damage to the address side. The only 10/- on postal article that we have offered.
All-different numerals all on Chalons & virtually all fine to superb strikes - which is quite extraordinary for Queensland postmarks - including many outright rarities & many others that are scarce to common on later issues but rated RRRR or RRRRR on Chalons, some better stamps to 1/- including very fine 6d SG 6. An exceptional opportunity. Ex 'Tamiami'.

Extensive collection of datestamps in eight expensive Lighthouse binders mostly from the 1890s-1912 period but with lots of earlier items, strength in material rated to RRR plus many more highly rated strikes including numerous that are common to scarce post-1912 but are rated RRRR or RRRRR in the 'Queensland' period, only minor duplication, condition rather variable. Ex 'Tamiami'. [Queensland postmarks are notorious for being badly worn as well as for being underinked and/or poorly struck. The overall quality here is far above average]

1860 Large Star Imperf 1d carmine-rose SG 1, an enormous example with full outer framelines & a large chunk of the adjoining unit at right, minor ink-marks on the back transferred from the envelope, indistinct cancel, Cat £800.
1890 New Values 2½d imperforate essay with Small Numerals in the Upper Corners, in deep green on ungummed unwatermarked paper. Rare. [Alan Griffiths' example in blue sold in 2012 for £780]
1890 New Values 2½d essay with Small Numerals in the Upper Corners plate proof in carmine-pink - close to the issued colour - on ungummed paper with sheet watermark 'UEE', good even margins, insignificant imperfections. Rare. Ex "Besancon" II (May 2018). [Sir Harrie Evans' very fine examples in deep green & in deep blue sold at the Prestige auction of 4.5.2002 for $4032 & $3808 respectively]
1907-11 Crown/A 2d blue with Clear Forehead SG 290 two examples that each show Ghosting of Letters 'Q' & 'AND' & elsewhere. With a 1936 article by RB Yardley who states 'Clearly the variety is of great rarity...'. See Ken Scudder at page 275 where he says the variety occurs on [R10/7-9] on one - unidentified - plate.

1907-11 Litho Large Chalons 2/6d vermilion ACSC #Q55 (SG 309) irregular block of 16 (3x6, minus units 2 & 3), well centred, virtually full og with 12 units being unmounted, Cat $1600++ (£670++) for mounted singles. [The ACSC states that this stamp was issued in sheets of 30 (6x5). That is certainly not the case here, and we note that John White had a block of 28 (7x4)]
LOCAL STAMPS: c.1966 Hayles' Magnetic Island 5c blue-green complete booklet of 48 (four sheets of 12) & 20c complete booklet of 40 (five sheets of 8). The only such booklets seen by us.
