image 1907 (March) linen parcel tag with rare (possibly unique?) franking of punctured 'OS' 2d violet, Thin 'POSTAGE' 2/6d violet and Thick 'POSTAGE' 6d blue-green & 1/- brown all tied by indistinct datestamps, a bit grubby & the tag with minor faults. An outstanding item for the collector of parcel mail or Long Toms: none of these are priced by the ACSC on cover & this is the only item we have seen with three different denominations & the only one with the 2/6d. [The rate was 4/2d for an interstate parcel weighing between 7 & 8 pounds]

image 1838 entire headed "Great Swan Port 14th Sepr 1838" & signed "Geo Meredith", to Hobart rated "6" with small boxed '19SE19/1838' arrival b/s, "6" scored-through & re-rated "1" because the addressee, Sgt Killion, was a soldier. A significant rarity: believed to be the only recorded inland Soldier's Rate letter from the pre-stamp period. [Offered with a promissory note - rejoined (?) or repaired along central split - also signed by Meredith. Great Swanport on the NE coast, was renamed Swansea c.1863. George Meredith was granted land on Oyster Bay in 1821] (Qty 2 items)

image 1858 printed Proccedings of the House of Assembly (6pp extract only) with 'TASMANIA' London Printing 1/- vermilion SG 41 (good even margins, small fault at L/L) with BN '61' of Hobart, to Launceston with outgoing 'PRE-PAID/27SP27/1855' cds & inwards 'PRE-PAID 28SP28/1858' boxed b/s both in red, minor blemishes, the stamp & address attractively orientated for vertical display. Ex Koicho Sato. An early usage in the year of issue, paying the very scarce 4oz inland packet rate that applied only between April & November 1858. [Although van Diemen's Land was renamed Tasmania in 1856, the 1858 6d & 1/- were the first stamps to bear the new name]
