image A terrific array of Edwardian Humour cards including by Cynicus, Lance Thackeray, Louis Wain and many others with subjects ranging across the full spectrum of pre-World War I life including Women's Fashion, Relationships, Sport, Motoring, Servants, Seaside, Alcohol & Temperance, Entertainment, 'Swanking' (= parading like a peacock), etc, some soiling mostly on the address-sides otherwise generally fine to very fine. Much of the humour is tame by later standards but some is quite bawdy and the double entendres signal what was to come in later decades. A delightful collection that cries out to be expanded and written-up as a social study. (Qty 700 approx) (Image1)
