image MOSTLY QV COLLECTION ON PAGES - covers, stamps and pieces; the covers include unusual? 1852 printed notice to Bavaria (address missing) with 1d newspaper impressed stamp and Oct. 1854 printed notice stamped with 1d newspaper tax posted otherwise free Liverpool to Beith (prior to abolition of the n/paper tax); Aug. 1875 Sporting & Dramatic News posted to Colchester with ½d rose-red plate 10; range of wrappers inc. undated ½d vermilion cancelled with scarce barred "C/NPB/E", undated ½d brown used to Bishop Stortford cancelled with rare G-rated 176 of Chelmsford, and 1882 Welsh wrapper with fine 'Western Mail' Cardiff imprint; Dibden type 9 on long 2½d lake wrapper uprated with 1d lilac (4) & ½d vermilion adhesives to St Petersburg, plus other Dibden types 11, 17, 27, 30; 1940 env. to Mombasa with KGVI 2/6 brown arms (2) and large orange (press censorship) label. Interesting content, touching on the Jacobite uprising 'the Earl of Seaforth was to join the Earl of Mar yesterday...', also 'This day published, The Real Anti-Christ: An Essay fully proving that the vices of the laity proceed from the corruptions of the clergy'(!).
