1938-41 KGVI $100 black & carmine on blue 'Revenue Revenue' Postal Fiscal. MNH with never hinged original gum, 2 expertly repaired perfs at top, beautiful deep colours. Both the $25 & $100 of this set were issued in 1940 for use on airmail letters & parcels, the $25 was only recently listed by SG, & while the $100 is not yet listed we expect it to be in the future as a postally used example on piece recently discovered & was sold at auction for $20,000+. The $100 is in effect of the same status as the KGV $100, with both being meant for fiscal use, & the KGVI stamp is much rarer. For comparison of the value the SG cat of both KGV $25 & KGVI $25 are the same at £1400, & as SG cat for the KGV $100 is £12,000, the rarer KGVI $100 should also be rated at least at £12,000. Previous examples we had realised $4200 in our Auction 291 & $5450 in Auction 296. Very rare high value & certificate can be obtained on request. (P) (Image1)
