1820s-50s MALTESE CROSS DATESTAMP GROUP OF MAIL - mainly Lombard St types inc. 1829 EL to Glasgow with famed "½" wheel tax on the front rated '2/8' and v fine blue "L.S/L.S" ds on the back, 1832 EL to Belfast pre-paid '1/4' with "PAID/L.S" ds on the front, and 1835 EL to Hastings paid '8' with "PAID" ds on the front then turned and used back to London. THE RARE LONDON FOREIGN BRANCH DOTTED FRAME "Oz at 12/- per Oz" MARK ON E FROM MEXICO; 4th Apr. 1831 E from "Veracruz" to London with a very fine dotted-frame "Oz at 12s/- per Oz" mark (one of the rarest "Oz" marks of all) DELETED. Endorsed with "p Packet/Eclipse" and the over charged rate of "2oz £1-6-8" (nearly 9 times the 2s-1d Packet rate + the reduced 11d rate from Falmouth to London - it should have been £1-4-0). The packet must have been diverted to Ireland as there is a red diamond Dublin "AM/19 MY 19/1831" hs on back flap adjacent to London dotted "F.P.O./MY 23/1831" hs.
