£2 Black & Rose, upper left corner example with "Specimen" HANDSTAMP DOUBLE, ONE INVERTED, hinged in margin; the stamp in superb unmounted condition. Accompanied by a 1983 B.P.A. Certificate. BW:55Dxb - $20,000 (in hinged condition).
The finer of the two examples known. The other example, illustrated at page 2/183 of the current Australian Commonwealth Specialists' Catalogue, was sold as part of the Arthur Gray Collection at Shreve's, New York in February 2007. Offered with an estimate of US$7,500 - $10,000, it was hammered at US$12,500 (+ 15% buyer's premium).
