Smooth Paper 1d red from a coil strip with the Join with 'JBC' Monogram still attached at the top. Rare. [Because they were made from normal sheet stock, the ACSC does not list the early coils. Most such coil stamps have trimmed perfs on one side which is at least a guide to identification. This stamp has full perfs but the coil join is conclusive evidence]
