1d red with 'ONC PENNY' as ACSC 71(4)q but with the 'E' Defective' punctured 'T', very well centred, Hobart machine datehead of 12.2.17. Unlisted in the ACSC. Ex Martin Frischauff from the 'Italian Hoard'. [Like the 'CNE' varieties, this is an ink-clogging flaw that is much scarcer than the better-known 'CNE']

1½d scarlet Electro 16 on Thin Paper ACSC 89ab (SG 77a) marginal block of 12 (3x4) from the base of the sheet with listed variety Retouched 'GE' of 'POSTAGE' & Shading 89(16)h plus unlisted varieties on [16L40], [16L55] & [16L58], well centred, minor bends, unmounted, Cat $3900+ (£1320+ for mounted) plus a premium for the varieties. Photocopy of RPSofV Certificate (2013) as the then ACSC 89aa, for the L/L corner block of 24 from which this block was removed.
4d bright orange with the Watermark Inverted and Line through 'FOUR PENCE' ACSC 110Ha(2)r, lightly mounted, Cat $700 for the plate variety + a premium for the watermark error. A very scarce combination.
4d yellow-orange Plate 2 'JBC' Monogram pair ACSC #110B(2)z with Pimple on Diagonal of L/H '4' ACSC 110(2)o, the first unit with a tiny natural paper-flaw, lightly mounted, Cat $1500. Ex 'Anglo-Saxon': sold at our auction of 16.8.2008 for $610.
4d yellow-orange with the Watermark Inverted ACSC 71Ia, exceptional centring, the faintest evidence of having been mounted, Cat $100. Superb! Scott Starling Certificate (2015) does state "mint never hinged".
