image 1911 STAMP DESIGN COMPETITION: stamp-sized 1d photographic essays, one in a vertical design featuring Map of Australia, the second a horizontal design featuring Coats of Arms of the Six Federated States surrounding a Map of Australia; fine condition. Both are very similar in design to the two essays attributed to the nom-de-plume "Record", offered by Shreeves in the 2007 Sale of the Arthur Gray Collection (Lot 46), selling for US$400 plus comms.       (Image)
