image 1824 (5 Jun), Letter from QUILON to London via Bombay and Exmouth, bearing the framed "QUILON/POST PAID" handstamp in blue (Giles No.1), charged "2/-" in m/s and with the scarce boxed "INDIA LETTER/EXMOUTH" h/s in black on front, and on the reverse with red London "C/11 OC 11/1824" arrival cds. The letter stained at lower right and with a minor part missing inside. A RARE LETTER with the SCARCE QUILON handstamp in blue (a bit indistinct) and the RARE EXMOUTH handstamp.

image 1826. Stamp-less folded letter written from 'The Customs House' dated '4th January 1826' addressed to 'H. Clark, Assistant Surgeon, 3rd Brigade, 2nd Division, Field Army before Bhurtpore' with framed 'Agra/Post Paid' on reverse. British and Bengal Troops besieged the city having arrived on the 7th January but the Fortress was not taken until the 18th June. Scarce item. (Image)

image 1826, cover Ship letter Madras, East Indies to Edinburgh, Scotland, via Weymouth, " G.P.O Madras 29 JY 29 1826 ". Ms. " Per Palmer " ( Ship General Palmer left on 30th July, one day after the postmark was applied). Reverse bearing double ring pmk " C 29 Nov 1826 " Evening duty at the General Post Office of London. The vessel arrived at Dover on 29th Nov. 1826 but the letter was handed over at Weymouth , India Letter handstamp "INDIA LETTER WEYMOUTH“ ( Port of arrival ). Manuscript tax 2Sh 10d and ½d ( Total 34½d ! ) - 30d for double inland rate to Edinburgh, 4d sea rate and ½d additional Scottish mail tax. Edinburgh arrival " W E Dec 1 1826 " ( W = stamper Alexander Watt, E = Evening duty ). (Image)

The text inside (one part of letter missing) refers to Philippines (= origin?) - an interesting cover.
